The Regional Radio Audience Measurement Surveys (RRAMS), conducted by Xtra Insights, cover 20 growing regional centres across Australia, providing vital audience insights that highlight radio’s continued role in everyday life. This industry-approved methodology ensures regional broadcasters and advertisers have accurate data to inform their strategies.
Unlike metropolitan markets, which report audience share, RRAMS focuses on the Station Listened To Most metric—identifying the percentage of listeners who nominate a station as their primary choice during a given time period. Additional insights include cumulative audience figures, exclusive audience percentages, and listening behaviorsacross key dayparts such as Breakfast, Drive, and Weekends
Survey areas are determined using Commercial Radio & Audio’s license area profiles, ensuring accurate representation based on the latest census data. Results are independently audited, providing a reliable and practical snapshot of regional radio listening trends to support broadcasters, advertisers, and the industry at large.
